HODN November 2018 Monthly Meeting
Join us on November 7th at 11am for a luncheon where we will listen to Mr. Roger Gordon, as he shares his experience both as an internal as well as external consultant, helping organizations develop their top talent.
Through boom and bust, organizations are subjected to significant pressures during the usual economic cycles that affect every industry. From downsizing or rightsizing in times of decreasing demand and returns, to the rush to bring in the required talent to meet the needs of a fast-recovering economy, business leaders face the same challenge: how to attract, retain and develop the talent that will make a difference for the long-term success of the organization?
In this talk, we will explore highly relevant questions for those engaged in organizational change and development, either as an internal or external consultant.
- How does Learning Development validate itself as a Value-added function in a world of bottom-line pressures?
- What is the importance of starting at the top and focusing on culture before delivering solutions?
- Why is Leadership Development important and how does it differ from Manager Training?
- What are the Leadership skills needed for the workplace of tomorrow and are we ready for the Big Shift?
Our guest speaker, Roger Gordon, will share the lessons learned from his 25 years of experience as an L&D professional, who has lived through the good times and has survived the bad. During this conversation, we will also explore what will be needed in the new set of leadership skills going forward.
